"Reflecting the Past into the Present"
I have an interest in Early American Folk Art and offer hand painted or hand stitched pieces reflecting some of the early art form. My original creations are also complimented by designs from other talented decorative pattern artists.
In visiting my website you will find hand painted decorative heirlooms for your home or gift giving needs. These heirlooms are hand painted, bringing you a unique and "one of a kind piece."
The pieces shown here include originals, reproductions and feature designs by tole painting designers. Many of the designs can be customized to fit different surfaces, colors schemes, and demensions. If you see anything of interest, but would like to have it painted on a particular surface, please contact me, we are more than happy to work with you to make your heirloom special.
I have been painting for over 25 years and continue to take classes and workshops to update myself on the new and ever changing mediums, techniques, and history. I have a passion for colonial times and love to visit and study the artwork and history of those times for inspiration. I consider the artwork of this time, " folk art", which reflects the skills of artists in the 17th and 18th centuries. In those times, many artists were self taught, and much of their works lacked exact depth, size, and scale of their subjects. These itinerant painters were commissioned to paint portraits, landscapes, and murals for families to decorate their homes.
I do have items in stock but can also take special orders and generally deliver within a few weeks. Holiday seasons might change delivery times. I will have an ever changing selection of artwork, so please stop back often and browse through my catalog.
About Me. . .
My name is Renee Frankish and I live in Ohio. I have a great interest in the historical times and am very lucky to visit my two special places Williamsburg, Virignia, and the New England states a few times a year that give me inspiration and knowledge that I can use in my artwork. I have been very fortunate to be able to work at something I love.
I have a wonderful husband of 37 years that is of great support and 4 children who have given me 12 beautiful grandchildren.
